Hey all. I'm back from the realm of non-posting with a fresh new crisp update for you all. Are you ready to have your minds blown?
Today I'll be reviewing Sapporo, since many of you have asked this.
Where to start... ok well first of all, let's break some myths about this beer. If you are drinking it in the States or in Canada, sorry to break it to you, but its not important from Asia. It's in fact brewed in Canada. So if you are paying $10 a can for it, you are getting ripped off.
Let's get to it
Looks: Golden opaque with a thin white head that doesn't last.
Smells: Strong citrus, some hops, rice. A bit aggressive on the nose I find.
Tastes: Rice, lemon. Quite crisp, fresh. Leaves a long bitter after taste.
Looks: 3/5 - Nothing particular about its looks. Rated up because I like the can.
Smells: 3/5 - Again, nothing really particular here. It smells like a typical rice beer.
Tastes: 6/10 - Again... nothing really particular here. Its a rice beer that's basically an upgraded bud. I mean that in the nicest of ways possible.
Overall: 12/20 - Have when you have sushi. Otherwise, stick to your local brewers.
J
Edit: Ok ok smartasses, I made a type, big deal. 12/20 :P
Thanks for the beer review! I never tried Japanese beer, but I guess I'll try Sapporo one day to see what it's taste like!

ReplyDeletewait, a 12 out of 10? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE! :D
ReplyDeleteI've actually had this before and have to agree with your review. Pretty mediocre beer, nice with the sushi otherwise plenty of other beers out there that are much more enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteIt's should be nice :D
ReplyDeleteI think he meant 12/20
ReplyDeleteI just had some Sapporo yesterday at a Japanese restaurant, i would probably rate it slightly higher than what you rated it, but thats just my personal opinion. Try Asahi next or later on =P
some family members just got back from canada and you pretty much summed up what they had to say about sapporo. spot on review!
ReplyDeleteCool review, interesting beer!
ReplyDeleteamazing beer
ReplyDelete12/20 :( a lot worse then I thought it would get
ReplyDeleteGreat post, bro!
ReplyDeleteNice review! glad you took my suggestion :D I actually alrdy knew about it being locally brewed ;( was a little choked. But I can't believe you'd rate it 12/20, it's actually really nice to me. You must tell me what's your all time favorite so I could try it. I would recommend you trying a Granville Island Lions Winter Ale, it's very unique, got a hint of vanilla to it.
ReplyDeleteawesome review, keep it up! :)
ReplyDeleteI love beer!
ReplyDeleteNot really a beer person, but maybe I should try this.
